FinEst Centre for Smart Cities has started the 5th round of the Smart City Challenge and is inviting all TalTech researchers and developers to solve complex urban challenges. This time we are investing 1.68 million euros to pilot and implement 2 new smart city solutions.
The aim of the challenge is to solve critical urban problems that have a significant impact on the well-being and quality of life of city residents. This round focuses on challenges that shape safer, happier and more climate-resilient cities.
On October 15th, FinEst Centre is hosting a workshop to explore urban challenges proposed by cities. The submitted challenges will be available on the FinEst Centre for Smart Cities website starting from October 3.
Cities and municipalities that have submitted their urban challenges will introduce them in more detail. Researchers and developers with interest to propose solution ideas are invited to dig deeper into these challenges, ask questions and connect with relevant city contacts to create proposals together.
Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to listen inspiring speakers Adrien Basiliades and Martina Serangeli from Communa ASBL, who will share an inspiring case on affordable, democratic, resilient, and creative housing in Belgium.
It is recommended to participate in the workshop in person, but virtual attendance is also possible. Virtual participants will receive a link a few days before the event.
Please register by October 12.
