TalTech Library participated in the READ JAPAN 2025 project, whose mission is to promote understanding of Japanese culture and traditions around the world through books.

The project, initiated by the Nippon Foundation in 2008, supports universities and libraries by donating Japan-related books in English. As part of the project, TalTech Library received a selection of books on Japanese history, society, literature, art, and religion, including materials for learning the Japanese language.

Everyone interested is welcome to attend the official book handover ceremony.

Time: 7 May at 15:00
Location: TalTech Library temporary service area, LIB building, 1st floor (entrance from outside, Ehitajate tee side)

The ceremony will be attended by the Counsellor of the Embassy of Japan in Estonia, Mr Miyata, the Cultural Attaché, Mr Ikeda, and TalTech Rector Tiit Land.

The exhibition of donated books will be open until the end of May, and after the ceremony, visitors will also be able to borrow the books.
