Held on 29 May, the TalTech 10K brought a record number of movement enthusiasts to the TalTech campus. While 454 people completed the distance last year, more than 1,200 registered for this year's run, with 899 officially taking to the course. Additionally, around 100 people completed the distance unofficially, meaning more than a thousand people were moving around the TalTech campus throughout the evening.
Even the youngest participants got to experience the joy of movement. Before the main event, 133 participants lined up for the Limpa Kids' Run, showing that the TalTech running bug is spreading to the youngest generation too.
At 19:00, when the starting signal sounded next to the TalTech amphitheatre, runners, walkers, Nordic walkers, supporters, and even four-legged friends took to the course. Remi Edur (Tallinn German Gymnasium) ran the fastest time of the day among men with 32 minutes and 24 seconds, while Berit Guzas (School of Information Technologies) ran the fastest time of the day among women with 38 minutes and 57 seconds.
The event also served as the final stage of the 2025/26 Rector's Cup season, bringing the sporting year to a fitting close. The overall winner of the series will be announced once the final combined results have been confirmed, and the trophy will be presented at the autumn semester opening ceremony.
The course featured both a banana and a bride
The creativity of its participants has always been one of the unique characteristics of the TalTech 10K, and this year spectators were not disappointed. Among the participants were a nun, a banana, Super Mario and several other colourful characters. However, the participant who attracted the most attention was a young man wearing a short wedding dress and veil, carrying a bouquet, who had decided to start his stag do at the TalTech 10K.

In a highly competitive race, the best participants were selected from among TalTech students, employees, alumni, school students, and participants from the general category. Additionally, the best athletes in the over-50s category were recognised, and separate competitions were held for the Glehn Castle segment and the final 500-metre sprint. Winners of each category received Teamsport.ee gift cards, and winners of the special competitions held on the course received a pair of Nike running shoes of their choice.

The fun continued after the awards ceremony in the TalTech amphitheatre, where the evening ended with a performance by the Karl-Erik Taukar Band.
