The thesis contributes into entrepreneurship education (EE) development exploring the new to the field concept of metacompetencies. The aims of EE have been in change looking for enhancing students abilities coping with hectic and changing environment, as well as increasing enterprising behaviour. This thesis finds metacompetencies serving these aims through self-awareness of own cognition, conation and affection, directly influencing attitudes, motivation and interest towards entrepreneurship. The assessment instrument has been developed and differences between students possessing lower and higher scores appear. Moreover, interesting gaps come out when comparing results from students to entrepreneurs. The study confirms that metacompetencies can be developed and demonstrates how it can be done through EE. Additional findings claim that participation is related to changes in students’ attitudes, motivation, emotions and interest while demographic variables (international samples) have no correlation.
