📝The research seminar, delivered by Sandra Milanović Zbiljić from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Niš, Serbia, will introduce the research environment of Niš, the University of Niš, and the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš (FEUN), followed by an overview of international research activities and Sandra Milanović Zbiljić’s research profile.

The seminar will first introduce Niš as an important administrative, business, cultural, and educational center of South-Eastern Serbia, providing a brief context for understanding the regional environment in which FEUN operates. The presentation will then focus on the University of Niš and FEUN, their educational and research capacities, and their role in supporting scientific cooperation, innovation, knowledge transfer, and engagement with regional stakeholders. Particular emphasis will be placed on FEUN’s experience with European research and capacity-building projects. Examples will include Horizon Europe projects such as UR-DATA, USE IPM, CROSS-REIS, and UR-WISE, as well as SMAR3TS, illustrating how international collaboration creates opportunities for interdisciplinary research, researcher mobility, innovation, and knowledge exchange.

The final part of the seminar will introduce Sandra Milanović Zbiljić’s academic and research background, including her PhD research and broader research interests in human resource management, career development, entrepreneurship, employee well-being, work engagement, and sustainable development. She will also present her current research direction, which explores workplace neighbourhood quality within the 15-minute city concept and its potential implications for employee well-being and work-related outcomes. 

The seminar will conclude by highlighting opportunities for future research collaboration between FEUN and TalTech.

Sandra Milanović Zbiljić, PhD, is a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Economics, University of Niš, and a research associate at the University of Niš. She holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Economics. She is the author of more than 90 scientific papers published in both domestic and international journals, as well as presented at academic conferences. Her primary research interests lie in business management, human resource management and entrepreneurship. She is involved as a researcher in projects funded by Horizon Europe and Erasmus+.
