Aim of the course:

The aim of BRICO summer university course is to give students who study technical specialities a chance to combine their theoretical knowledge with practical values and create something tangible along the way. BRICO gives a chance to improve organizational and group work skills and everything in international company.

Target group:

University students who study technical specialities on BSc and MSc level from Estonia and foreign countries. It is important that participants have knowledge of building constructions and mechanics.

Topics:

BRICO is an international steel bridge competition where students from all over the world are expected to participate with bridges that they have designed and produced. Final competition takes place in May in the campus of Tallinn University of Technology and lasts for 5 days. Final competition is preceded by designing the bridge models according to the rules and regulations, manufacturing the bridge and learning how to erect the bridge. Competitors taking part of the final competition have a great chance to meet with students and future colleagues from different universities and countries. More information: www.brico.ee

Study results:

Student taking part of BRICO competition will use theoretical base gained during studies to design and produce a real steel bridge model.
• Develops skills of technical drawing
• Have to use great amount of knowledge gained in different mechanical subjects
• Improves group work skills
• Gives experience on project management from first sketch to the last bolt
