Aim of the course:
The overall aim of the Dynamic Positioning Simulator course is to provide participants with further insight, experience and confidence in performing offshore operations under Dynamic Positioning control
Target group:
Navigators who have successfully completed DP Basic Course and have 60 days documented seagoing familiarisation on a DP capable vessel. Dynamic Positioning operator trainees
Prerequisites:
Successfully completed Dynamic Positioning Induction Course (Phase 1)
60 days documented seagoing familiarisation on a DP capable vessel (Phase 2)
No more than 5 years between the Dynamic Positioning Simulator Course and the Dynamic Positioning Induction Course
Topics:

Study results:
At the end of course, trainee knows:
• Manage the DP system warning and alarms
• Deal with DP emergencies and incidents
• Explain the consequence analysis
• Define a risk assessment
• Prepare and execute an operational plan
• Elaborate upon a worksite approach
• Execute a final setting-up
• Explain the development and application of DP trials and FMEA
• Set up the DP bridge simulator and execute DPO's actions
