Aim of the course:
Koolitus on mõeldud doktorantidele ja karjääri algfaasis olevatele teadlastele, kes soovivad laiendada oma teadmisi laevanduse dekarboniseerimise tehnoloogiliste võimalustega seotud tänapäevastest väljakutsetest ja lahendustest.
Target group:
The course is intended for doctoral students and young researchers in maritime studies.
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of maritime technolgogies and a relevant background are recommended.
Topics:
The course consists of the following main components:
- Overview of the decarbonization opportunitiess
- Alternative fuels and energy sources
- Maritime electrification
- Winter navigation challenges
- Training on research funding opportunities and proposal writing
- Excursions and networking activites with industry experts
Study results:
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will obtain:
- An overview of the technological possiblities in maritime decarbonization
- Understanding of the effect of ice going vessel requirements to decarbonization
- Understanding of the possibilities and challenges in maritime electrificaiton
- Ability to assess the practical effects of transformation to alternative fuels
Assessment criteria:
Edukas läbimine eeldab osalemist vähemalt 90% õppesessioonidest ning aktiivset panustamist rühmatöösse.
