Aim of the course:
This course aims to improve understanding of industry trends and sustainability goals from the perspective of companies, promoting sustainable and financially sound strategies for long-term growth and competitive advantage.

Construction and architecture specialists.
Prerequisites:
Prior knowledge of construction. EQF level 5 or higher.

1. Introduction to macroeconomics and key economic indicators: GDP, inflation, unemployment, economic growth, and their impact on the construction sector.
2. Supply and demand theory in the construction industry, including market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and factors influencing construction markets.
3. Fundamentals of the circular economy and sustainable business models in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector.
4. Resource efficiency, material flows, and circular value creation in construction projects.
5. The impact of circular economy principles on organisational culture, decision-making, and resource allocation within construction companies.
6. Economic and sustainability challenges in the green transition of the construction sector, supported by practical examples and case studies.
