Tallinn University of Technology

Aim of the course:

To equip technology leaders with the knowledge and judgement needed to understand, assess and manage the cybersecurity risks and opportunities arising from artificial intelligence.

Target group:

Technology managers, digital transformation leaders, IT and cybersecurity managers, and other decision-makers responsible for AI adoption, digital risk or organisational resilience.

Topics:

This executive course explores the fundamentals of cybersecurity in the context of artificial intelligence. Participants develop a practical understanding of essential cybersecurity and AI concepts, examine AI-specific threats and vulnerabilities, and explore the dual-use nature of AI—how the same technologies can strengthen cyber defence or enable more sophisticated attacks. Through business-relevant discussions and practical examples, participants assess how AI is changing the cybersecurity landscape within their own organisations and identify actionable measures to manage emerging risks and strengthen resilience. The course also examines the ethical, legal and governance responsibilities leaders must consider when adopting and overseeing AI-enabled cybersecurity technologies.

Study results:

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Define and correctly use essential cybersecurity and AI terminology.
- Identify and assess cybersecurity risks associated specifically with AI.
- Explain the dual-use nature of AI-enabled cybersecurity technologies.
- Evaluate how AI affects cybersecurity within their professional field or business environment.
- Recommend practical security measures to mitigate AI-related cybersecurity risks.
- Discuss the key ethical, legal and governance implications of using AI in cybersecurity.
