Tallinn University of Technology

Development of simulation- based computational models

Project description: The project will develop a computer simulation model that will enable the assessment of fish passage conditions through hydroelectric power plant turbines. The use of simulations will significantly reduce the need for field tests, allowing for more efficient use of time and money and a broader analysis of scenarios.

Project objective: To develop a simulation model that can be used in the research work, more specifically to replace physical tests carried out in hydroelectric power plants with computer simulations. Also this project gives an opportunity to provide our staff with professional training and consultations so that they would be able to independently develop the necessary simulation models or adapt them as needed in the future.

Project result: development of a computer simulation model that will enable the assessment of fish passage conditions through hydroelectric power plant turbines.
