Tallinn University of Technology

FinEst Centre for Smart Cities is currently running its fourth Smart City Challenge during which we collected modern problems from cities what need smart solutions.

By September 16th, we received 35 solution ideas for 20 city challenges from researchers at TalTech and other universities, as well as from companies. Explore all submitted solutions ideas and see if you can team up with other researchers or companies to submit pilot project proposals by November 15, 2024, together with cities.

On September 25, we invite all researchers and developers to a workshop where they can hear all the submitted ideas and find potential partners for testing solutions. We strongly recommend reviewing the proposed ideas beforehand from HERE.

Cities interested in piloting these solution ideas can connect with researchers and developers to collaboratively create and refine proposals.

Smart City Challenge

The aim of this workshop is to introduce the initial proposed ideas to the submitted city challenges and engage in discussions to start forming the initial piloting teams.

Additionally, you'll be inspired by insights into the smart city initiatives of Barcelona, presented by our guest speaker, Isabella Longo, from Barcelona City Council.

We are expecting cities and municipalities that have presented their challenges. Also, researchers and developers who wish to participate in the development of novel practical smart city solutions, either with their own proposed solution or by joining a team to contribute to solution development.

It is recommended to participate in the workshop in person, but virtual attendance is also possible. Virtual participants will receive a link a few days before the event.
