Are you a doctoral student working on artificial intelligence?

TalTech’s AI Flagship Centre invites PhD students from all faculties to submit an abstract of their research for the upcoming TalTech AI Autumn Seminar, taking place October 10–11, 2025, at LaSpa (Laulasmaa).

Who should apply?

We welcome abstracts related to PhD research that:

  • contribute to the development of artificial intelligence;
  • apply AI in various domains (engineering, economy, health, society, etc.);
  • use AI methods (e.g. machine learning, large language models, computer vision) to solve scientific problems.

What are we looking for in the abstract?

  • It does not have to be a finished paper – early-stage research is welcome.
  • We prioritize projects that present initial results, new knowledge, or practical recommendations.
  • If your research has strategic or practical relevance for Estonia, please highlight this clearly in your abstract.

Review and selection

Submissions will be evaluated by a review committee led by Prof. Eduard Petlenkov.
 Up to 20 PhD students will be selected to:

  • participate in a poster session on October 10, with a 5-minute intro pitch followed by informal discussion,
  • attend the full two-day seminar (accommodation and transport covered).

Submission details:

  • length: 2000–3000 characters (in English or Estonian)
  • deadline: August 25, 2025
  • presentation format (at the seminar): 5-minute elevator pitch + poster session
