On Wednesday 27 May 2026 at 15:00 (EEST) Dr. D’Souza will give a Venia Legendi lecture titled "Toward Machine-Actionable Science: Neuro-symbolic and Agentic AI for Structured Knowledge and Reproducible Discovery“. With this Venia Legendi, Dr. D’Souza is applying for the Professor of Data Science position at the Department of Software Science.
Dr. Jennifer D’Souza is a postdoctoral researcher in the Data Science and Digital Libraries group at TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and University Library, working on the Open Research Knowledge Graph project. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, where she studied relation mining from natural language text, with a focus on time and space. She later worked at UC Davis on NLP for software engineering and in industry developing concept discovery solutions. Her research spans information extraction, question answering and discourse, and scientometrics.
