Tallinn University of Technology

March 4th – May 1st the wood fired pottery exhibition HEADLINERS by Anu Vingisaar is open in the library’s 2nd floor reading area.

Anu Vingisaar graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts as a fashion designer, but she has always liked ceramics. For now, she has studied ceramics at Olustvere School of Service and Rural Economics, and wood fired pottery has now become her job.

Wood fired pottery is made in a kiln heated by wood. The production process is long, it takes at least a week from packing the oven to cooling. Items made in a wood-firing kiln are one-of-a-kind and unique. It is impossible to achieve two identical results, as wood ash, which forms the glaze, also takes part in the production process.

Anu Vingisaare's work can also be found on her website www.anuk.ee.
