January 5th – March 1st an exhibition of the Estonian Association of Designer Bookbinders Old Estonian Fairy Tales is open in the library’s 2nd floor reading area.

The exhibition is dedicated to the father of Estonian national literature Friedrich Reinhold Kreutzwald, whose 220th birth anniversary is this year. Kreutzwald's timeless work Eesti rahva ennemuistsed jutud (Old Estonian Fairy Tales) is one of the major texts of Estonian literature. Fairy tales and legends that the writer collected “from the mouths of the people” have fascinated readers of all ages for over 150 years. At the exhibition, works by 13 Estonian bookbinders are displayed. All bindings include the latest, 2022 edition of this book.
