FinEst Centre for Smart Cities next Research & Innovation Seminar (RIS) with the topic "“Designing traffic systems with autonomous vehicle  – modelling a zone, attitudes of people, and technical and legal reality”” is happening on 10.03.2022.

Research and innovation seminar

Since June 2020, FinEst Centre for Smart Cities has been organizing Research and Innovation Seminars (RIS). The purpose of RIS is to create a connection between researchers and city developers. This happens by presenting research results, plans and urban challenges presented by city developers, urban planners etc.

The next RIS session with the topic “Designing traffic systems with autonomous vehicle  – modelling a zone, attitudes of people, and technical and legal reality” is happening on 10.03.2022 from 10:00am to 11:40am (EEST) and can be seen in online.

Seminar’s language: English

The problem what we are going to discuss in this RIS sessions is that the big audience, and even many academics, suppose that autonomous vehicles will just come behind the corner and then we all will sit in them. But how would the traffic system be organised? How would the individual autonomous vehicles operate in reality, in the context of open urban traffic, with humans and non-autonomous vehicles, not to mention the seasonal and daily changes in weather and lighting? Also, as so called street-green is changing all the time.
