WHAT IS MARINEHÄKK?
MarineHäkk is a maritime-focused hackathon taking place for the sixth year, bringing together students, maritime professionals, and enthusiasts under one roof. The day begins with a short introduction, followed by team-based work on maritime challenges, and concludes with relaxed networking in the evening. 12 hours of smart development for the maritime sector - one team, endless ideas.
THIS YEAR’S FOCUS: MARINE DEFENCE & RESILIENCE
We are looking for solutions in the following areas:
⚓ Protection, repair, and maintenance of critical infrastructure (subsea cables, pipelines, port infrastructure, energy solutions, and related technologies)
⚓ Drones and autonomous platforms in maritime applications (defence, monitoring, logistics, safety, resilience, and development of autonomous systems)
⚓ Maritime area monitoring (sensor technologies, remote sensing, satellite monitoring, data analytics, and AI applications)
⚓ Coastal defence and amphibious operations (innovative solutions for planning, safety, and response)
⚓ Maritime dual-use technologies (solutions applicable in both civilian and military sectors)
⚓ Training and simulation solutions (responding to evolving security needs, from subsea drone development to operational training solutions for critical infrastructure protection and restoration, including tailor-made training)
WHO IS IT FOR?
👥 Teams will be formed from participants with diverse strengths and experience, both from TalTech and beyond. Everyone is welcome on board - seafarers, designers, IT developers, engineers, logisticians, and business planners.
Maritime innovation is not only for sailors - you also have the opportunity to upgrade the sea!
