About:

The inaugural Next Generation Government Symposium (NGGS) aims to bring together stakeholders from academia, government, civil society and the private sector to discuss, network and collaborate on what the future of digital government will look like. From interdisciplinary perspectives in information sciences, social sciences, law and public administration, the Symposium provides an engaging way for researchers to discuss the societal, technical and ethical implications of innovative technologies and architectures. A selection of submissions may be published in conference proceedings or a special edition journal. The NGGS is open for research submissions by Masters students and PhD researchers in topics related to but not limited to:

  • Data analytics, machine learning and AI
  • Open digital society
  • Cybersecurity
  • Blockchain technologies
  • Digital competencies and culture
  • Digital transformation of government services

Submission requirements:

Academic citation/paper format styles accepted: APA Edition 6/7.

Negotiation to both 3.1 and 1.1. ETIS publications are ongoing.

  • Extended Abstracts/Research Proposals: up to 4 pages (pages of around 400 words each)
  • Short Papers: 6-8+ pages (pages of around 400 words each)
  • Long Papers: 12-15+ pages (pages of around 400 words each)

NB! Presenting submitted work at the NGGS is required

Submission dates:

  • First submission of papers: May 31st
  • Acceptance of papers under condition of revision: July 15th
  • Camera-ready version: August 2nd
