The next Maritime Cyber Security Centre Research Seminar
Introductory remarks by the speaker
Digital twin (DT) technology combines and integrates a multitude of technologies and their capabilities in one system, i.e. IoT components, machine learning models and infrastructures, cloud computing and visualization software. DT can be approached as an advanced simulation or an automation enabling platform, thereby allowing organizations and whole business networks and sectors to design, plan, monitor, and control their assets, processes and services. We outline the state of the art in DT technology, in the maritime transport context, and discuss a particular ship energy management use case, along with cybersecurity aspects.
