Tallinn University of Technology

Department of Business Administration invites to a research seminar.

Wednesday, 29 January 2025 at 15:00-16:30 in room SOC-356 / MS Teams

A presentation by Maddie Winter, PhD (Researcher at the Department of Business Administration of TalTech SBG).

The university is increasingly a site of contestation. In the context of new technological tools, complex global challenges, and emerging societal demands, students and teachers are grappling with what purpose the university serves, if any.

Drawing on several years’ worth of work with colleagues based at the University of Edinburgh, this presentation explores the possibility and potential of interdisciplinary education. Both theoretical perspectives, and their practical implications will be explored. Approaches to interdisciplinary pedagogy, including the challenge-based model, will be introduced and an overview of design, instruction, and assessment modes will be provided.

Maddie Winter, Researcher at the School of Business and Governance, Tallinn University of Technology completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh, UK. She is a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Future of Work in London.
