The next Maritime Cyber Security Centre Research Seminar will be conducted via MS Teams on 2 April at 13:00-15:00 (see the link below). Ric Lugo, PhD, Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Maritime Cybersecurity, TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy, will be presenting on the topic of "Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses in Cybersecurity Education: Applying PRISMA for Evidence-Based Insights."

Research seminar 02.04.2025

Introductory remarks by the speaker

Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are powerful tools for synthesizing research findings and evaluating the effectiveness of cybersecurity education and training. This seminar will introduce participants to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, detailing how these methodologies can be applied in social science research to assess the impact of cybersecurity training interventions.
The seminar will present current and previous research on designing systematic reviews, selecting appropriate inclusion criteria, extracting and analysing data, and interpreting findings for policy and practice, and how this can be used for cybersecurity education studies, By bridging cybersecurity research with social science methodologies, this seminar will provide a foundation for evaluating training interventions with empirical rigor and contribute to evidence-based decision-making in cybersecurity education.
