In the glass gallery connecting LIB-SOC buildings of Tallinn University of Technology and in the entrance area of the library, a photo exhibition of the winners of the Wikimedia Science Photo 2023 competition has been opened.
This exhibition introduces the best Estonian science photos of 2015 and 2017. Selected winning works of Estonian science photo competitions lead the viewer to a fascinating journey into the microscopic interior of various materials and living organisms as well as space assets. Portraits of scientists, however, reveal everyday life in research, which is full of fanatic interest and joy of making discoveries.
The goal of the science photo contest organized by Wikimedia Estonia, which supports the development of Estonian web encyclopedia Wikipedia, is to popularize science and its capture. The Estonian science photo contest is part of a worldwide competition.
The exhibition can be viewed until the end of January 2025.
