On Monday, December 6 at 15.00, Kristjan Tabri, Head of the Tallinn University of Technology’s Small Craft Competence Centre and a Senior Researcher at the School of Engineering, will talk about innovation and challenges in the maritime industry. With the lecture, Tabri is a candidate for the position of Professor of Marine Structures and Technology.

The aim of the position is to conduct teaching and research in the field in collaboration with the maritime industry as well as to increase the international recognition of the Estonian maritime sector.

Kristjan Tabri has a master's degree in manufacturing technology (TalTech 2003) and a doctorate in shipbuilding (Aalto University 2010). His main research interests are the behaviour of marine structures under accidental limit states and the modelling of fluid-structure interactions. Kristjan Tabri is a member of the board of the Association of Estonian Marine Industries, the Estonian correspondent at the International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress and a member of committee V.1: Accidental limit states.
