This workshop will cover:

Why use Mendeley or any other bibliographic manager

Overview of Mendeley Desktop and Mendeley Web Importer

Registration, downloading and installing plugins

Adding records with the Web Importer, manually, by importing pdfs and by using watched folders

Creating citations and bibliographies in LaTeX, Word and LibreOffice

Additional functionalities: adding notes, Folders, Groups, finding and merging duplicate records

Comparative strengths and weaknesses of Mendeley
Before the workshop you should:
1. Sign up for Mendeley (Elsevier) account
2. Download the desktop client: https://www.mendeley.com/reference-management/mendeley-desktop
3. Add the Web Importer to your browser: https://www.mendeley.com/reference-management/web-importer
4. Try using Mendeley before coming to the workshop – more time can be spent on specific questions and problems you may already have
