Created by a TalTech graduate, the fitness app FitSphare invites all TalTech students and staff to participate in the step challenge between universities "Spring Steps". To participate, one must register using a specific faculty code or a general code. The challenge presents an excellent opportunity to warm up for the TalTech Rector's Cup step competition starting on May 1st.

The fitness app FitSphere is organizing for the third time a step collection challenge called "Spring Steps 2024" between students, teachers, lecturers, and the entire school community in Estonia. The challenge starts on April 1st and lasts until April 30th and is free for everyone.
According to studies by the National Institute for Health Development, every third schoolboy and every fourth schoolgirl in Estonia is obese. One of the main contributors to this is physical inactivity. The goal of the app created by a TalTech graduate is to add up to ten healthy years to everyone's life. "We aim to achieve this through a playful challenge that promotes the formation of exercise habits and motivates tens of thousands of people across Estonia. To give momentum to the steps, a number of prizes are offered to participants," said TalTech graduate Karl Vihul.
One of the goals of the challenge is to determine the most active higher education institutions in Estonia. To find the most active students and teachers with the highest step counts. The challenge considers the average steps collected by all faculties and universities – thus, everyone has equal chances of winning. In summary, awards will be given to the university that involves the most students, the university with the highest participation rate, and the university with the most active employees. Additionally, awards will be given to the field or faculty with the highest average step count.
Motivating movement and assisting in step collection are T1 Centre, Liikuma Kutsuv Kool and RMK.
