Tallinn University of Technology

Barbara Agasild will serve as Acting Head of TalTech’s Technology Transfer Office from 1 October 2026.

Caroline Rute, Head of the Technology Transfer Office, will be away from work for approximately one year from 1 October while on parental leave.

“From 1 October, I will be stepping away from work for about a year due to a very happy change in my life and to make my own contribution to increasing Estonia’s birth rate. During this period, my good colleague Barbara Agasild will serve as Acting Head of the Technology Transfer Office. I wish everyone an entrepreneurial year!” said Caroline Rute.

Barbara Agasild has so far worked at the Technology Transfer Office as a technology transfer expert. Her work has focused on supporting the application of knowledge and technologies developed at the university and on fostering cooperation between researchers and companies.

“The Technology Transfer Office has clear goals and a strong foundation in place, and my aim is to maintain this continuity and ensure that the office continues to provide strong support to our researchers. We will continue promoting an entrepreneurial mindset and developing programmes that help students’ and researchers’ ideas reach practical application. Over the coming year, we will place particular emphasis on supporting TemTA projects and helping them progress towards collaboration with companies. I would also like the office to become even more visible within the university, so that people know they can turn to us with their ideas and proposals for cooperation,” said Barbara Agasild.

As Acting Head, Barbara will continue to lead the Technology Transfer Office’s existing areas of activity. The office aims to support the transfer of knowledge, technologies and innovation developed at TalTech into the economy and society, while strengthening cooperation between the university, companies and the public sector.
