The Campus Party of TalTech starts as early as 11 a.m. on 8 September. The programme is very exciting and multifaceted, with activities for everyone – students, alumni, staff, and guests alike. The daytime programme is free for everyone.
There are several reasons to come to the main building in the morning. The programme will kick off at noon on the Academicians’ Alley, where you have the unique opportunity to meet the main teams of the TalTech Sports Club.
Why not get there a little early to get a bite to eat at the food court on the Academicians’ Alley? Food trucks will be serving plenty of delicious meals from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. By the way, BiteMe and Köömen will be serving food also the day before, on 7 September.
Tickets for the afterparty in the evening can be exchanged for wristbands in the lobby of the main building from 11 a.m.
The building will be bustling with current and former students
One of the main merits of the Campus Party are the ideal conditions created by the university for organising class reunions. As there are lots of activities on campus that day and the university also helps to organise the reunions, it will be a great opportunity to get together with your coursemates and spend a lovely day together.
The School of Business and Governance offers its alumni an exciting short programme, at the centre of which is Tea Kookmaa’s presentation ‘AI: Friend or Foe? Understanding Legal Consequences’.
On this day, students (and why not alumni) can conveniently buy a TalTech cap. Caps are available in the lobby of the main building from noon until 3 p.m.
Tours everywhere
The Campus Party is a unique opportunity to explore the nooks and crannies of the university that you do not see every day or that many are unaware of. As in previous years, you can take a guided tour around our entire Mustamäe campus. This year’s campus tour is called ‘Man’s best friend – the machine’. There will be three tours and they all start in the lobby of the main building.
The archive of TalTech will also open its doors – you can go on four tours and visit an exhibition of its best gems; the tours start on the hour.
At the campus party, you will have the opportunity to go on a guided tour in the museum of TalTech and visit the exhibition ‘Ain Toim. The Art of Engineering’. One of the tours will be led by Ain Toim himself.
Take part in sports competitions or cheer along
The Campus Party is also going to include some physical activity. In our experience, the Estonian Pentathlon World Championships of TalTech’s student organisations are particularly spectacular. Although only teams of student organisations can take part, spectators are very welcome. The championships start at 3 p.m. in the Student House car park.
However, if you want to test your skills, you can try your hand at disc golf near building 6 starting from 11 a.m. In addition to a short course, you can take part in a putting competition on the Academicians’ Alley from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. There may be surprises in store. More information coming soon – keep an eye on the website of the Campus Party.
Come to the Campus Party by (e-)bike
There are plenty of parking spaces for bikes and scooters on the university campus, so you can leave your car at home when you come to the Campus Party. And why not consider an e-(cargo)bike for your future trips? For inspiration, there will be a display of e-(cargo)bikes on the flagpole square in front of the main building from noon until 6 p.m. You can even go on a test ride. Electrobike, Velomarket, Kastiratas, Ampler Bikes, and Äike are showing off their bikes. By the way – Velomarket will raffle off a Triumph Classico city bike among all visitors!
Brain gymnastics to help prepare for afterparty in the evening
A quiz has become a traditional part of the Campus Party and it has always been so popular that there is not enough room for all who want to participate. In order to prepare your brain properly for the afterparty of the Campus Party, you should sign your team up early. Teams of three can take part. Brains will be fired up in the lobby of the SOC building (the economics building) at 6 p.m.
QUIZ night in English will start at 4 p.m. in the same place, mainly aimed at our international students, lecturers, and alumni. However, all students, staff, and alumni of TalTech are welcome to take part.
Party till dawn with the best Estonian artists
Of course, all of those enjoying the daytime programme are also welcome to the afterparty in the evening (an entrance fee applies).
The afterparty will begin at 7 p.m. with a rock cantata by Rein Rannap, which will take place in the main hall of the university and will also include all the cultural collectives of TalTech. The best artists in Estonia – Kukerpillid, Terminaator, and 5MIINUST – will end the evening with a bang.
The ever-popular silent disco will take the party into the wee hours of the night.
Get your tickets early, as better prices apply for early birds. Tickets are available in Fienta.
