As of 1 August 2023, the Cybersecurity MSc programme will be led by Adrian Venables, the Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Digital Forensics and Cyber Security.
Dr Adrian Venables served as a Regular & Reservist Officer in the UK Royal Navy for over 34 years specialising in Communications, Electronic Warfare and Intelligence. He has seven degrees including a MSc in Cybersecurity and PhD in International Relations, is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information System Manager (CISM). Dr Venables joined TalTech, the Tallinn University of Technology, in 2018 and specialises in the role of Cybersecurity, Strategic Communications and Influence Activities within the wider Information Environment. Since 2022 he has been an official supporter of the Estonian Cyber Defence League.
Rain Ottis, the previous Programme Director of the Cybersecurity Master's Programme will continue in his current roles as the Head of the Centre for Digital Forensics and Cyber Security and Deputy Director of the Department of Software Science.
The Cybersecurity MSc programme provides students with core skills in wide aspects of the security of information systems and specialised skills in the chosen specialisation. Students get a unique chance to study under high-level Cybersecurity practitioners from Estonian universities, industry, law enforcement, CERT and the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.
