In the early hours of Wednesday a delegation consisting of the Academic Male Choir and Academic Female Choir of Tallinn University of Technology welcomed the singers of the Academic Female Choir of Tallinn University of Technology, who placed third with 90.56 points at the Cork International Choral Festival!
It is a premiere choral music festival with a history of nearly 70 years where the best amateur choirs from all over the world come to take part in an intense competition. This year, eleven choirs were selected to compete in the international round, with three choirs from Estonia able to compete. The surprise and joy of the Estonians was all the greater when it turned out that the three first places were awarded by an honourable jury to Estonian choirs – second place to the Academic Women’s Choir of the University of Tartu and first place to the Mixed Choir HUIK.
In addition to the competition, our female choir gave numerous concerts over several days in churches, a school, and various concert venues.
Congratulations to the Academic Female Choir of Tallinn University of Technology and the choir’s conductors, Edmar Tuul and Karin Tuul!
