The Estonian Maritime Academy (EMERA) is pleased to announce the commencement of a strategic partnership with Holland America Line, a prominent cruise company within the Carnival Corporation. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for EMERA, providing our students with exceptional opportunities to gain practical experience and further their careers in the maritime industry.

Holland America Line operates a distinguished fleet of 11 modern classic ships, offering over 500 voyages annually across all seven continents. Their itineraries include popular destinations such as the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe, Mexico, South America, the Panama Canal, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, as well as exclusive journeys to the Amazon, Antarctica, and extended Grand Voyages. This extensive reach and diversity in ports provide a broad spectrum of experiences for our students.

Mark-Mihkel Eiche

We are proud to announce that Mark-Mihkel Eiche, an EMERA ship engineering student, has successfully navigated the application and interview process to become the first Maritime Academy student accepted into Holland America Line's cadet internship program. Mark-Mihkel will undertake his internship aboard the MS Noordam, where he will have the opportunity to apply his academic knowledge in a real-world setting and potentially secure employment with Holland America Line upon graduation.

Looking ahead, Holland America Line has expressed a need for skilled professionals in various technical and operational roles, including Electrical Officers (ETO), HVAC Engineers, Watch Engineers, and Navigation Officers. Consequently, they are prepared to offer internships to cadets specializing in watch engineering, electrical engineering, refrigeration mechanics, and navigation.

This partnership not only underscores the quality and relevance of the education provided by the Estonian Maritime Academy but also aligns with our mission to equip students with the skills and experiences necessary for successful careers in the maritime industry. We are confident that this collaboration with Holland America Line will pave the way for future opportunities and contribute significantly to the professional development of our students.
