Tallinn University of Technology

From this academic year, completely new student smbassadors have joined the EuroTeQ team at TalTech. In the following posts, we will introduce to you these bright young individuals who will help the university achieve its goals - to encourage as many students as possible to choose EuroTeQ courses.

The first student representative we would like to introduce to you is Kerttu Filippov, a 2nd-year student in the School of IT, specializing in Business Information Technology. She also serves as the TalTech representative on the EuroTeQ Student Council. We asked Kerttu 5 questions, and we've already answered the first one (Kerttu is a 2nd-year business information technology student).

What do you do in your free time?

What is free time? :D Just kidding, actually, alongside my studies, I fulfill the role of an education manager in the Student Council of the School of Information Technologies, and I generally try to stay physically active for the sake of my mental health. But if, by chance, I do have some free time, I try to take on a fun spontaneous "side-quests" to break away from the routine. I highly recommend it – it makes life interesting!

What is your life motto or guiding principle that keeps you going in life?

I actually have quite a few. One of the most legendary artists (I would even say philosophers) of this century once said, "every day above ground is a great day, remember that," and honestly, those are words to live by. Another important one for me is 'Why not?' - it always sparks an inner dialogue or discussion on topics like 'why not?' or 'what's holding me back?' or even 'what happens if...'

Why choose EuroTeQ?

EuroTeQ gives you the opportunity to create your own study program. This means you can take courses that genuinely interest you and, who knows, you might even replace courses that don't resonate with you as much (no promises, contact your program coordinator). The biggest bonus is, of course, the international experience – in some courses, you can work on group projects with other international students and, if you wish, even go abroad!

Which EuroTeQ courses are you currently taking or planning to take in the future?

I haven't been able to fit any EuroTeQ courses into my busy schedule yet, but I'm considering several for the spring semester. Right now, I'm particularly interested in the Computer Networking & Distributed Applications course from the Polytechnic Institute of Paris and the Agile BootCamp courses from the Czech Technical University.

The EuroTeQ course catalog for the spring semester is open until November 24th. You can check the list of courses and register here: https://euroteq.eduxchange.eu/

The EuroTeQ Engineering University project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
