September is Transport and Mobility Month at TalTech, aimed at encouraging people to use greener modes of transport to get to work, school, and home – for the benefit of both the urban environment and ourselves.
To support this goal, the student house (STU) parking lot on TalTech’s Mustamäe campus will be closed from September 8–22.
So that the closed parking lot doesn’t go completely unused – and to give people a reason to enjoy it – we’ve planned various activities and opportunities for this period.
In place of the parking lot, there is now a relaxation area where you can enjoy your lunch, take a break between lectures, hold an outdoor office hour or meeting, or just spend some free time.
Throughout the period, the following will be available:
· Outdoor gym,
· Basketball hoop and balls.
Additionally, the following are planned:
· Iseauto demonstrations on September 11 from 4–6 PM and September 17 from 1–2:30 PM
· Coop Bank and Tuleva Financial Literacy Afternoons on September 16 and 18 from 2–4 PM
· Food truck Biif Burger on September 10 and 12
· Food truck Vagun from September 15–19
We know that changes can be inconvenient, but we hope this small nudge brings new experiences and perhaps even positive new habits.
On September 22, we’ll also close part of the main building’s parking lot to celebrate World Car-Free Day together. Read more about it here.
