Tallinn University of Technology recognized the most outstanding lecturers and program directors of 2024 at a ceremony dedicated to the 107th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. Senior Lecturer Harli Moosaar from the Estonian Maritime Academy was named one of the best lecturers of the year, marking his long-standing dedication and exceptional contribution to maritime education.

Harli Moosaar has been associated with the Estonian Maritime Academy since 2010, upholding maritime education traditions and developing courses in marine engineering. His work is characterized by exceptional responsibility, professionalism, and commitment to supporting both students and colleagues. He has actively contributed to the development of the Estonian Maritime Academy, including the establishment of a new simulator center and modern teaching laboratories.

Moosaar is known among his colleagues and students as a demanding yet helpful and understanding lecturer with a rare ability to explain complex technical topics clearly. His extensive experience in the maritime industry has provided him with invaluable practical knowledge, which he enthusiastically shares with aspiring marine engineers.

In addition to teaching, Moosaar is an active author of professional literature and has co-authored several specialized textbooks. He has also participated in the development of professional qualification standards and contributes to the advancement of the field as a board member of the Estonian Marine Engineers Association.

His contributions have been recognized before: in 2019, he was awarded TalTech’s Best Lecturer of the Year title, and in 2020, he received the Estonian Maritime Academy’s Medal of Merit No. 39 for his outstanding contribution to maritime education.

The 2024 recognition as TalTech’s Best Lecturer is yet another testament to Harli Moosaar’s dedication and high-quality teaching, inspiring both current and future maritime engineers.
