On 11 May 2026, TalTech welcomed a high-profile delegation from the Slovak Rectors’ Conference (SRC). The SRC is one of the three national bodies representing higher education institutions in Slovakia. Its mission is to coordinate and promote the activities of rectors at Slovak universities, as well as to establish and maintain international cooperation with universities abroad.

The delegation was led by the President of the SRC, Professor Vladimír Hiadlovský, who also serves as Rector of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.

During their visit to TalTech, the delegation met with Rector Tiit Land, Dr Eric Blake Jackson, Programme Director of the E-Governance Technologies and Services master's programme, and Dr Ago Luberg, Head of the Applied Artificial Intelligence Research Group and Programme Director of the Informatics and Artificial Intelligence bachelor's programme.

The visit concluded at the Division of Food and Biotechnology, where the guests were greeted by Professor Katrin Laos, Head of the Division. The delegation enjoyed a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in food technology by Professor Petri-Jaan Lahtvee, who represented both TalTech and the company ÄIO, together with Mariane Barrier, Head of Commercial at ÄIO.

The discussions provided valuable insights into TalTech’s activities in digital governance, artificial intelligence, and food technology, while also creating opportunities for strengthening future cooperation between Estonian and Slovak universities.
