On 2 November, the students at the School of Business and Governance studying in the International Business Administration programme took a study trip to companies located on the Pakri Peninsula. The purpose of the visit was to introduce international students to the Estonian economy and business landscape.
Students visited the PAKRI Science and Industrial Park which combines broader synergies through the Green Technology Science Park, PAKRI Smart City, PAKRI Smart Energy Network, Technology Testing Area, and Green Work Environment. The companies operating in PAKRI are focused on the main global challenges and innovation of the green technology sector.
At PAKRI, students were familiarized with the activities of the company Plastic Road, which designs, creates, and supplies sustainable, climate-proof and circular road elements, which are made from household plastic waste.
Students also visited the sustainable recycling company Rakse Recycling, which handles various types of construction waste and where it is possible to process and reuse almost 100% of the construction waste. Rakse Recycling is looking for a solution to the waste problem, which is growing worldwide.
While visiting AS Chemi-Pharm, students had a great opportunity to see the production of hundreds of different disinfection, cleaning and care products for medical sector institutions, food industries, companies offering cleaning services, and kindergartens and schools in 27 countries all over the world.
