The Tallinn University of Technology Strategic Plan 2021–2025 primarily focused on quality. The improvement in the quality of academic activities was clearly reflected in the university’s key indicators – the set goals were achieved and in several cases even exceeded.

The labor market is showing a growing demand for engineers, IT and technology specialists. The development of the Estonian economy requires the strengthening of high-tech industry, which places a responsibility on the university to contribute even more to applied research, entrepreneurial cooperation, and interdisciplinary solutions both within the university and in collaboration with partners. The university council has set a goal to define the major challenges of the next decade, with the changing geopolitical situation playing an important role in shaping them.

The Tallinn University of Technology Strategic Plan 2026–2035 sets a goal of growth, but not at the expense of quality. Growth-oriented development is also reflected in the new key indicators. The implementation of the development plan is supported by the action plans of faculties and institutes, ensuring coherence between strategy and everyday academic activities.
