This year marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of the first newspaper written in Estonian and edited by an Estonian – “Marahva Näddala-Leht”. In honour of the significant event in the history of journalism, this year's national Library Days are also dedicated to journalism. Library Days take place on 20 - 30 October.

An Exhibition “Librarian on a Timeline” at the 2nd floor entrance area of the library. The exhibition takes us through the history, where the milestones represent the most important or interesting historical events that made their way to newspapers at the time of the graduation of each librarian. The criterion for selecting the events was the availability of information in the digital archive DIGAR and ISE database of Estonian articles.
