Major reconstruction and renovation works are planned in the TalTech Library building, the reading areas as well as the library café are closed until the end of summer. The temporary service area is on the 1st floor of the library building.

The most important dates:

  • Temporary service area on the ground floor of the library building is open. 
  • The cafeteria is closed until the end of summer.
  • 24/7 study room on the ground floor of the library building will be open for students until January 25. 
  • 24/7 study room and computer class will be opened on temporary rooms from February 2. More information in January.

Throughout the construction period, the library will ensure uninterrupted access to all subscribed databases and online services, and books can continue to be pre-ordered for pickup from the book locker. Consultations and training for the university community, data management support, subject-specialist services, doctoral thesis publishing, and other activities will also continue.

The renovation will improve the building’s indoor climate and reduce noise levels, significantly expand study, social, and group-work areas, and add modern group-study rooms. The 24/7 study area will grow, and a new 100-seat conference hall will be added.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in September 2026, and the café will reopen in August.
