At the academic ceremony of the 103rd anniversary of Tallinn University of Technology on September 17, 2021, the Rector awarded the Mente et Manu Medal of Merit to outstanding scientists.
The medal was awarded to Professor Alvar Soesoo from the Department of Geology for his long and outstanding contribution to the development and management of the field of earth sciences at the university and to popularising the field among high school students through the Earth Sciences Olympiad initiative.
