The Government has announced this year’s recipients of the national research awards, among whom is Professor Karsten Staehr from TalTech’s Department of Economics and Finance.
Karsten Staehr received the national research award in the field of social sciences for his series of works titled “Macroeconomic Causes and Consequences of Europe’s Transformation.”
Karsten Staehr is one of Estonia’s most influential economists. His research has systematically analyzed economic growth, inflation, macroeconomic policy, and the challenges of transition economies in Estonia and other European countries.
In addition to his research, he has made a significant contribution to fostering the next generation of Estonian economists and promoting internationalization in the field.
The research awards will be formally presented on 18 February.
