Last week, on March 14th, a festive event took place where the bright and dedicated employees of the School of Business and Governance were recognized.
The Research Article Award aims to recognize outstanding research within the School, motivating members to publish in top-tier journals. Criteria for selection include preference for articles published within the School’s core areas and in Web of Science (WoS) journals with a higher Impact Factor (IF). Awards are distributed to up to ten research articles which were were selected by the School's management involving Dean, vice-deans and all directors.

Lecturers of the year- Jaanus Müür. Over the years, Jaanus has proven to be an exemplary assistant, supervisor, and lecturer. A great friend to both students and colleagues alike.

Lecturers of the year- Pawan Kumar Dutt. Pawan is an esteemed lecturer while actively contributing to the European Intellectual Property Organization's educational initiatives and engaging in research projects. He is also creating a university-wide course that would strengthen TalTech's intellectual property protection. He recently received a doctorate degree.

Programme director of the year- Martin Toding. Martin Toding manages the school’s exclusive program intended for international mid-level and senior managers. In 2023, MBA program achieved the prestigious AMBA accreditation, which among other things, is a recognition of the program director and the quality of the curriculum.

PhD supervisor of the year- Laivi Laidroo. School's PhD Supervisor Award goes to the supervisor who has (co)supervised the highest number of defended doctoral theses in the School of Business and Governance at Tallinn University of Technology in the last three years. Two of the four theseses Laivi supervised were completed with nominal time.

Support staff member of the year- Iris Laak. Iris oversees the study and personnel-related activities of the dean’s office, manages the work of study consultants, and participates in different development activities. She stands out for her inspiring and supportive attitude and dedication to her work.

Management gurus of the year- Erkki Karo and Wolfgang Drechsler. Special Award for the authorship of the book on Management ""How to Make an Entrepreneurial State: Why Innovation Needs Bureaucracy"" by Rainer Kattel, Wolfgang Drechsler and Erkki Karo, honoured with the Academy of Management’s 2023 George R. Terry Book Award.

Creator of education bridges- Tarvo Niine. Special Award for introducing the School to high school students, contributing to the Business Competition for High School Students, and leading the MURG (Mustamäe state high school) elective courses.

Master of media relations- Paavo Siimann. Special Award for Sharing Knowledge both in the Classroom and in Public.

Educational innovator- Kristi Joamets. Special Award for promoting the quality of studies and initiating teaching development, specifically by incorporating a technological focus into legal education.

Special award for long-term and highly dedicated work- Uno Feldschmidt.

Star economist of the year- Kadri Männasoo. Special Award for Outstanding Research, Teaching, and Contribution to Economic Policy in Estonia.
