On 26 September, TalTech welcomed a delegation of rectors and higher education experts from Ukrainian universities.
The visit to Estonia, organised in cooperation with Universities Estonia, aimed to provide the delegation with an overview of university governance and funding in Estonia and to discuss opportunities for further cooperation.
At TalTech, the guests were introduced to the university and discussed possible university governance models.
“When choosing a governance model, a key consideration is how decision-making authority and responsibility are distributed and how the model supports the achievement of the university’s strategic objectives. Comparing the Estonian and Ukrainian experiences helped us consider these issues from different perspectives,” said Reijo Karu, Head of the Rectorate Strategy Office at TalTech.
“TalTech has a strong interest in developing cooperation with Ukrainian universities. We see considerable potential for cooperation in research and education as well as in the exchange of experience,” said Rector Tiit Land.
Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship Erik Puura presented TalTech’s strategic approach to international cooperation.
“Cooperation with leading universities helps us strengthen research and education and find partners for joint initiatives. EuroTech is at the heart of our international cooperation,” Puura said.
The delegation’s visit to Estonia took place from 21 to 26 September and also included meetings with representatives of other universities and the higher education sector in Tallinn and Tartu.
