his Thursday, May 15 at 19:00, the long-awaited 10 km run will take place on the TalTech campus, marking the festive conclusion of this year’s Rector’s Cup season. But this is more than just a sports event — what’s at stake is honor, glory, and the final ranking between faculties! With the top three positions still wide open, every participant could make a decisive difference.

Participant Guide / Checklist – TalTech 10 km Run
Date and Location
Tallinn University of Technology invites all university members, friends, partners, and community members to join the 10 km run on May 15, starting from the university campus.
The start of the 10 km TalTech Run will be given on May 15 at 19:00. The race center is located in the inner courtyard of TalTech (Ehitajate tee 5, Tallinn), near the amphitheater. The start line is located on the forest-facing side of the Akadeemia tee 7 dormitory, in the direction of Mektory.
NB! All participants must collect their race kits between 15:00 and 18:15.
Participants
Participation in the 10 km distance is at the participant’s own risk (minors participate under parental responsibility).
The 10 km race is open to anyone aged 10 and above who is sufficiently trained.
Exceptionally, younger participants may be allowed on the course with the written permission of a parent or coach. Consent must be sent to the organizers at juuliusejyngrid@gmail.com at least one week prior to the event.
Organizers recommend undergoing a health check-up before registering.
Participants will be disqualified if they use external help (e.g., car, bicycle, scooter, etc.) or litter (based on photographic or video evidence). Waste can be discarded at the drink station on the course or into designated bins at the competition site.
Race Center
The race center opens no later than 15:00 on May 15. It includes:
Secretariat (bib number pickup, on-site registration)
Changing area and bag drop
Outdoor toilets
Award area (stage)
Medical assistance
Start Procedure
The start corridor opens 30 minutes before the start.
Only participants with a race number are allowed to enter the start area.
Each race number is personal and may only be used by the registered participant.
All participants start from the same start corridor.
For safety and fairness, faster runners should position themselves towards the front, and those aiming to enjoy the run at a slower pace should start further back.
Course Details
The 10 km race takes place on Tallinn’s streets and light traffic roads.
The course is open for 3 hours.
There are two water stations on the route. Water is served in reusable cups, which must be disposed of in yellow collection bins after use.
For safety, participants must follow instructions given by course marshals.

Finish Procedure
After finishing, participants must follow the post-finish corridor into the service area, where they will be directed to a rest area.

To register, fill out the registration form.
Your name will appear in the participants list after payment is received.
Participation Fees
The event is free of charge for TalTech members (students, employees, alumni) and schoolchildren. To confirm this status at the race center, present a valid document (e.g., ISIC card, student card, photo of report card).
Regular ticket price during pre-registration (until May 10 at 23:59): €10
After that and on-site: €20
The participation fee includes the race number, timing, and drink stations.

Timing and Results
Electronic timing is used.
Preliminary results will be published on the race website and later on the official event webpage.
Timing is done with a chip attached to the back of the race number.
Do not remove the chip or fold the number.
The number must be worn on the chest and be visible throughout the race.
Incorrect placement may result in no official time.
Do not cover the race number when finishing, or your result may not be recorded.

Categories and Awards
The event welcomes both competitive runners and those enjoying a relaxed run or walk. Nordic walkers and casual walkers are also welcome. The goal is to encourage the university family and friends to move together in fresh air for a healthier future.
Prizes awarded in the following categories:
Top 3 TalTech students, male and female
Top 3 TalTech staff, male and female
Top 3 TalTech alumni, male and female
Top 3 school aged youth, male and female
Top 3 general category, male and female
Fastest 50+ runner, male and female
The fastest male and female overall will each receive a €250 cash prize.
Additionally, there will be a mini-race inside the 10 km course – “Glehn Castle Mini Run” More info available here.

Medical Assistance
Medical aid is available throughout the course.
If you see someone in distress, notify a marked medical worker, event staff, or call 112.
Dropping Out
Organizers have the right to remove a participant from the course due to clear health issues.
If you must stop, go to the nearest water station and inform the organizers for transport arrangements.
Organizer Rights
Organizers reserve the right to disqualify participants for unsportsmanlike behavior or for not following the rules.
Photos and videos taken during the event may be used by the organizers.
By registering, the participant:
Agrees to the event guidelines and organizer rules.
Agrees to the use of personal data according to laws and regulations.
Agrees to receive a pre-event email with important info.
Confirms they are healthy and trained for the event.
In case of force majeure, the participation fee will not be refunded. Similarly, no refunds are issued if the participant cancels their registration.
Lost & found items should be handed in at the secretariat.
Protests
Protests must be submitted within 2 hours after the winner finishes. The protest fee is €50, refunded only if the protest is upheld.
Disputes and issues not covered by the guidelines will be resolved by the Tallinn University of Technology organizing team.
