On 17 March 2026, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Stockholm visited TalTech to discuss opportunities for academic cooperation. The delegation included Ms. NTSIMANE Lebogang Nataly, Second Secretary: Political, and Emma Mollberg, Translator/Tourism & Information Assistant.

TalTech was represented by Rector Professor Tiit Land and Reijo Karu, Head of the Strategy Office and Director of International Cooperation. The meeting was also attended by Vaho Klaamann, Honorary Consul of the Republic of South Africa in Estonia.

Discussions focused primarily on potential collaboration between TalTech and South African universities, with particular emphasis on expanding opportunities for academic mobility.

As a follow-up, representatives of the embassy’s academic sector and the South African Ministry of Education are planning a visit to Estonia during the Africa Business Forum 2026 on 26 May 2026.
