The Department of Energy Technology participated in the SQUARES consortium meeting from September 15–17, 2025 in Islamabad, Pakistan. The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) hosted the event, which gathered project partners from South Asian and European institutions to continue advancing the objectives of the SQUARES project.

SQUARES (Sustainability and Quality Assurance for Academic Governance and Redesign Engineering Studies) is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building initiative focused on enhancing engineering education and quality management across higher education institutions in Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
The three-day program centered on collaborative work within the project’s domains, where partners reviewed progress and planned the next stages of implementation. In addition, NUST arranged a series of visits to its research institutes, departments, and facilities, providing participants with first-hand insights into the university’s research and innovation ecosystem.

A key result of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NUST and the SQUARES partners, strengthening academic collaboration and paving the way for future joint activities. The Islamabad meeting marked an important step forward in the project’s implementation, reinforcing cooperation and knowledge exchange among consortium members.
