By the end of this calendar year, the Student Portal is predicted to reach 1 million visits. The motto ‘everything a student needs from one place’ has guided the development of the portal for three years of activity, and as an information channel, it also supports the work of university employees. Possibilities that you cannot find in the Student Portal as yet may already be on their way!
The Student Portal includes, among other things, the student's schedule, semester study results, email notifications and events on the campus and of organisations. Anyone can interactively create a list of important contacts, notify the HelpDesk of system errors or the Real Estate Office of other failures, elect the Student Council or even a favourite eatery, and add their own events to the portal calendar.
Benefits for the teaching staff and support staff
When entering the interim results in Moodle and exam times in the SIS, the information reaches the Student Portal, which more than half of the users view from their mobile phones using the TalTech app. The contact information of a student counsellor, internship coordinator or teaching staff on the main page of the portal helps to reduce the number of queries to find the right person. In order to get a comprehensive overview of study information, student life and services, students can be directed to the menu of the Student Portal, which leads them directly to the necessary information from the website, and the student advisors of the Student Counselling Office are one click away in the portal chat window.
