Tallinn University of Technology

Erik Puura, Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), and Vesa Sakari Punnonen, Member of the Management Board at Kaupmees Group, have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at promoting youth entrepreneurship and contributing to Estonia’s sustainable future.

The partnership rests on a shared conviction that, in today’s complex and rapidly evolving world, the most effective solutions emerge from the synergy between science and enterprise.

“Estonia’s competitiveness and sustainable development increasingly rely on strong collaboration between universities and businesses. By combining TalTech’s scientific capabilities with the partner’s practical business insight, we can accelerate the rapid development of the country’s food trade and logistics sector,” noted the Vice-Rector Puura. He also noted that students will have the opportunity to undertake internships at companies within the Kaupmees Group and base their theses on real-world business challenges. In addition, guest lectures and joint projects will help to bridge the gap between education and the world of work.

“We are not merely searching for new technologies – we are seeking better ways to think, act, and grow. That is why our collaboration with TalTech is an investment in innovation that creates value for our employees, our customers, and society as a whole,” said Vesa Sakari Punnonen. He added that the partnership will enhance the company’s ability to develop research-driven and sustainable solutions in logistics, product and service development, and supply chain management, whilst also supporting the training of the next generation of specialists.

Through practical initiatives and the exchange of knowledge, the aim is to generate shared value for both the sector and the wider community.
