On 8 December, two cooperation agreements were signed at the Neo Performance Materials plant in Sillamäe, further strengthening the partnership between TalTech and the company.

The strategic cooperation agreement marks a new chapter in the development of smart industry, scientific collaboration, and green technologies in Estonia, creating favourable conditions for innovation.
The agreements were signed by Tiit Land, Rector of TalTech; Steven Paul Williams and Andrei Litvinjuk from NPM Silmet; and Gregory Paul Heydon and Olga Zaitseva from NPM Narva.
TalTech’s materials scientists, chemical engineers, circular-economy researchers, and digitalisation specialists will provide expertise that Neo Performance Materials can apply in the development of new technologies and environmentally sustainable production processes.
A key element of the cooperation is the support of the next generation of talent. Students at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral level will have opportunities to undertake internships, applied research, and development projects within the company, gaining access to its technologies as well as its modern production and laboratory facilities. The partnership offers young engineers and researchers valuable practical experience and enhances their prospects of building careers in emerging fields of smart industry.
Neo Performance Materials is one of the few companies in Europe engaged in the processing of rare-earth elements, the development of value-added engineered materials used in critical modern technologies, and the production of advanced magnet materials. These fields are directly linked to the advancement of electric mobility, wind energy, energy storage, and high-technology electronics.
