Tallinn University of Technology

From 20–22 May, TalTech will once again take part in  Latitude59, the leading startup and technology conference in the Baltics and the Nordics. This year, TalTech is showing up in full force: visitors at the TalTech booth will be welcomed by humanoid robots, satellite prototypes from the Student Satellite Foundation, and even TalTech ice cream. In addition, Iseauto invites conference guests to hold their most important meetings inside its autonomous vehicle cabin. In the evening, TalTech will host guests in a more relaxed atmosphere at the Deep Tech Pub event.

Biotech Innovation Estonia 2026

Biotech Innovation Estonia 2026 Side Event

As part of the official Latitude59 side programme, Biotech Innovation Estonia 2026 will take place on 20 May from 10:00 to 15:00.

The event will bring together biotechnology companies, researchers, investors, young talents, and policymakers to discuss the development and future opportunities of Estonia’s biotechnology ecosystem. The day begins with keynote presentations and panel discussions featuring experiences from neighbouring countries in developing biotechnology ecosystems.

One of the keynote speakers is Dr Arttu Luukanen from Solar Foods. Panel discussions will include representatives from Biocatalyst Foundation, LithuaniaBIO, Icosagen, Enterprise Estonia, RMK, Fibenol and Metrosert.

The programme also includes a food innovation lunch showcasing innovative Estonian food solutions and companies, including Raw Edge, Shroomwell, NordTempeh and many others.

Participation in the Biotech Innovation Estonia 2026 side event does not require a Latitude59 ticket, but participants must register in advance here. The same link also provides detailed programme information and additional event details.

Humanoid Robots, Drones and Pink Ice Cream at the TalTech Booth

During the main conference days on 21–22 May, visitors to the TalTech booth will be able to see humanoid robots, drones, and artificial intelligence-based technology demonstrations.

Those who stop by to meet TalTech teams and explore the technologies more closely will also be offered the university’s signature pink ice cream, originally developed as a student project in collaboration with TalTech’s food technology researchers.

Iseauto: A Meeting Space in the Middle of Latitude59

Iseautot saab broneerida kohtumiste ja vestluste pidamiseks

On 21–22 May, visitors to Latitude59 will also have the opportunity to see TalTech’s autonomous vehicle, Iseauto, located in the outdoor area throughout both conference days.

Iseauto demonstrates TalTech’s long-term expertise in autonomous systems, smart mobility, and real-world artificial intelligence applications. The vehicle can also be booked for meetings and discussions, offering guests the opportunity to use a self-driving vehicle as a unique meeting room right in the middle of the conference atmosphere.

Pitching Stage Puts TalTech Teams in the Spotlight

On 21 May from 11:30 to 12:15, the pitching stage will belong to TalTech teams.

Teams from TalTech’s IGNITER programme as well as university spin-offs developing next-generation deep technologies will take the stage. For some teams, this will be the first time presenting their ideas publicly, while new collaborations or investment opportunities may emerge directly from the audience.

Masterclass on Space and Cybersecurity

TalTech will host a masterclass at Latitude59 titled: “Putting the Space into Cyberspace – How Space Secure Are You?”

The session takes place on 21 May from 14:00 to 15:00 in Terrace Hall and focuses on the growing connections between space security and cybersecurity as dependence on space-based systems continues to increase rapidly.

The seminar explores how satellites and other space infrastructure are becoming increasingly essential for businesses and everyday services, while simultaneously becoming more frequent targets for both state and non-state actors. Discussions will focus on the risks associated with growing reliance on space-based solutions and how these risks can be mitigated. The session will also introduce cybersecurity practices that help organisations protect themselves against attacks and system compromise.

The masterclass will be led by Dr Adrian Venables, Programme Director for Cybersecurity and Head of the TalTech Space Centre, together with TalTech cybersecurity master’s student Johanna Kasenurm.

TalTech DeepTech Pub

Originally launched at TalTech four years ago, DeepTech Pub has evolved into a networking format connecting the Nordic deep tech community. This year, TalTech once again organises DeepTech Pub as an official Latitude59 side event.

Sel aastal korraldab TalTech taas DeepTech Pubi Latitude59 ametliku kõrvalüritusena

On 21 May at 17:30, researchers, investors, startup founders, students, and deep tech professionals from across the Baltics and the Nordics will gather at F-Hoone. While the daytime conference programme is filled with pitching sessions and meetings, the evening shifts into a more relaxed networking format.

At the centre of the evening is the panel discussion “Building the New Nordic Deeptech Powerhouse”, focusing on how deep tech companies emerge in the region, where they find the support needed for growth, and why international collaboration is becoming increasingly important.

The panel will be moderated by Vaido Mikheim and will feature Rasmus Kalep, Elijah Aldana and a representative from Aalto University.

Following the discussion, the evening continues with networking. It is the kind of event where a single conversation may lead to the next investment, research collaboration, or startup idea.

Participation in the side event does not require a Latitude59 ticket, but advance registration is required. Register here.
